My name is Sherri, and this is the story of how I followed a quiet calling to create a sanctuary for healing, transformation, and abundant living that celebrates freedom and liberation. .
I grew up in South Africa, a land rich in beauty and contrast, where I cultivated my deep curiosity about the human spirit and earned my honors degree in Psychology. But my journey began long before I studied at university.. It began when I was just 10 years old, sitting in my school auditorium during career day. A mother, a psychologist, stood at the front, speaking about her work. Her words ignited something profound within me—an unshakable knowing that I, too, wanted to guide others toward seeing life through new eyes and uncovering the beauty hidden in their own experiences.
That passion grew as I did, weaving itself into the fabric of who I was. I became the peacemaker, the confidante, the “psychologist” of my friendship circle—holding space for others came naturally to me. But life, in its infinite wisdom, had lessons of its own to teach.
As I delved deeper into psychology and traveled the world, I realized healing wasn’t just about the mind—it was a journey of the soul. I discovered that I, too, had wounds to tend to. Past trauma and painful experiences had left me disconnected from my own inner light, caught in patterns of self-sabotage and lack of worth. I carried a deep mother wound and a longing for self-love that would only come when I dared to face my shadows and embrace my truth.
What followed was a beautiful, challenging, and transformative path of inner alchemy. I embraced holistic healing practices: yoga, meditation, breathwork, somatic body work, Usui reiki, crystal healing, shadow work, manifestation, conscious dance, shamanic healing, fasting, dieting, and quantum energy work to name a few. Each practice became a sacred tool, helping me dissolve old patterns, connect to my highest self, and awaken the limitless potential within me. Slowly, I began to live in alignment with my soul, reclaiming my power and manifesting a life rooted in abundance, truth, and deep love.
Six years ago, I found myself for the second time on Gili Air, a tiny island that felt like stepping into a dream. Within hours, my husband turned to me and said, “Let’s live here.” The very next day, we stood on the land that would become casa magick, a vision born from the heart. In just four days, we signed the papers and began creating what we knew would one day be a haven for beings like you—souls seeking to remember their truth and step fully into their light.
Casa Magick is not just a retreat space; it is an invocation. It is a portal to your most radiant self, where you can shed the stories that no longer serve you and step into the abundant life you were destined to create. It is a place to reconnect with the elements, to listen to the whispers of your soul, and to awaken the magic that has been waiting for you all along. Here, the ocean carries away your fears, the sunsets ignite your passions, and the stillness reminds you of the wisdom within you.
